Dr. Ron E. Gaines is a bliblical enthusiast committed to the spread of the Gospel. He is husband to Beverly and father to the magnificent seven: Kanisha, Brittany, Whitney, Rafael, Michael, Torry, and Denico. He is very modest and adamant in not taking credit for God's glory. Although an accountant by trade, Pastor Gaines is known abroad for his musical talents. He is a critical thinker and is often found either preaching, teaching, counseling, or consulting in some capacity.
Pastor Gaines was educated in South Carolina in the Lancaster County School District through seventh grade but completed middle and high school in the Chesterfield County School District. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from South Carolina State University (SCSU). He began his Biblical Education in 2011 after preaching his initial sermon on August 22, 2010, at the Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Pageland, South Carolina under the pastoralship of Dr. David A. Dickey. Pastor Gaines is the proud receipient of the prestigious Morris College School of Religion's Ministerial Certificate through the Kershaw, SC extension, under the tutorledge of Dr. Waldo Robinson. This three year program facilitated further religious studies. Pastor Gaines received a Mastor of Science Degree in Ministry and a Doctor of Theology Degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary. Pastor Gaines is currently enrolled at Luther Rice University and Seminary in pursuit of a Master of Science in Leadership Degree.
As a young teenager, Pastor Gaines was elected as Director of Youth at his childhood church home, Mount Cannan Baptist Church, Jefferson, SC. As the years would prove, this position would be the first of many on the road to the pastorate. At SCSU, Pastor Gaines was elected President of the Student Christian Association, gaining valuable ministry experience.
In 1990, Pastor Gaines founded, produced, and continues to direct one of the areas renound groups: Voices of Hope (VHope), Jefferson, SC. In 1994 the group released its' debut recording "Working on A Buliding" of which some songs are being sang. In 1999 the group received an award as Best Contemporary Gospel Group and was chosen to perform at the internationally acclaimed MOJA ARTS FESTIVAL in Charleston, SC. Under the direction of Pastor Gaines, VHope has shared the stage with several Gospel greats including: the Legendary Lee Williams & the Spirtiual QCs; Doc McKinzie & the Gospel Hi-Lites; Keith 'Wonderboy' Johnson; Luther Barnes & the Redd Budd Gospel Choir; John P. Kee & New Life; and more.
Pastor Gaines is President/CEO of Consolidated Nutritional Services and is responsible for administering programs throughout the state of South Carolina. He is also CEO of gServices, an income tax and consulting firm that he inherited at the passing of his mother: Malinda L. Gaines in October of 2000. In 2008 God began to inspire Pastor Gaines as a writer. In 2010 Pastor Gaines published his first book, Pictures of Promise. Currently, Pastor Gaines is President of the Jefferson Pageland Ministerial Alliance and continues other Kingdom work within the community and throughout the state.
Dr. Ron E. Gaines confesses that of all his accomplishments, his call as Founding Pastor of the Greater Charity Baptist Church is most celebrated. He looks forward to weekly worship, fellowship, and strengthening of the bond between his church family, his family and he.
